The nonprofit Willamette Writers is proud to offer this panel discussion featuring the winner of its  2016 FiLMLaB Contest, Shaun Radecki. The FiLMLaB Contest offers aspiring screenwriters the opportunity to elevate their craft through experiential learning with local film professionals who help them bring their seven page script to the screen.

Christopher Alley is a Portland film professional with over ten years in the film and  television industry (MIAMI VICE, GRIMM). Director of the first two FiLMLaB shorts in 2012 & 2013 (and winner Best Comedic Short at 2013 OIFF), he returned this year to produce the 2016 winning short written by Shaun Radecki and directed by veteran screenwriter Randall Jahnson. Randall Jahnson has been a professional screenwriter for 30 years. He's worked with such diverse filmmaking talent as Steven Spielberg, Penelope Spheeris, Alec Baldwin, Spike Lee, and Jonathan Demme. Shaun Radecki is the winning writer of this year's 2016 FiLMLab competition. He also had a second script reach this year's finals and three others received honors in the 2015 competition. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Shaun has worked on several TV shows in both New York and Los Angeles before moving to Portland two years ago. In addition to short scripts, he also enjoys writing features and fiction.
